He's waiting for... something. But I don't think it's me. Booker assumes that because he's got some fixations of his own. But actually, they're more in line with each other than me.
I think it's better if they figure it out together... whether or not they're actually interested in becoming the people in their 'visions'.
... I don't know. Obviously I don't remember enough about him as a person, but isn't he supposed to be the protagonist who regresses hundreds of times and keeps on fighting no matter what?
Maybe if he didn't have any memories of that life, but...
...Or maybe he just is, but the difference is, this time he has a choice.
In the novel, Yu-- the protagonist never chose to become a regressor. The only escape for him was to clear all the scenarios and reach the end. It's not like he even dreamed that 'the end' would somehow be worth it. He just... had been struggling for it for so long.
But here, in this life, he got to get a taste of the hell the protagonist went through, and also was able to skip the end. And he decided it wasn't worth it.
[his tail uncurls from Curtain's ankles so it can lash slowly but restlessly across the deck boards]
...I can't exactly beat him up and tell him to come to his senses and accept a miserable story he doesn't want. Especially when I remember so little of it myself, and I won't even be able to talk to him again after today.
So I'm just leaving him in Booker's hands for now. Honestly, I think they've been doing well. I've been enjoying reading how things are going with them.

And I can't exactly blame him for that.

Re: Day 280
And your approach for "Shura" was going to be...?
Re: Day 280
[swish swish swish]
He said 'just annoy him like you usually do, it seems to work' so I guess I was expecting to be annoying.
Re: Day 280
Annoy him for what?
Re: Day 280
[his tail wags tho, he thinks this is funny]
Re: Day 280
They're a mess, those two.

Re: Day 280
But they willingly chose this, so they can't complain.
Re: Day 280
And... they did. What do you think of all this? As a constellation it isn't that strange to me, but...

It won't be my problem anymore after this is over, and it's not like I don't understand where he's coming from, but...
[his mouth twists a bit in distaste]
Knowing I have the potential to become that kind of person under the wrong circumstances is... cringe.
