It included one of the performances slash scenarios slash competitions slash trials in that place.

I don't know if there is a delicate way to put this... Curtain was pretty upset about the results.

Okay.

The challenge was basically 'vote to kill other teams so your own team doesn't die' and for various reasons Curtain voted to kill Jae's team, everyone did, his team was winning the most at the time, so then Jae and everyone on his team died.

It was temporary, like in this place, everyone knew it would be temporary. Jae wasn't mad about it. Curtain felt really bad about it but instead of saying he felt bad about it he just acted like an asshole and tried to make Jae leave him alone, which didn't work.

Jae is so bad at reading other people's emotions it's frankly embarrassing to be associated with it. Could not for the life of him figure out the problem, could not tell Curtain liked him, could not tell Curtain wanted to be friends, Curtain is so bad at just admitting to his emotions he would literally rather jump out a window than just say "Sorry I killed you, I feel bad about it".

Jae used one of Curtain's abilities to possess his body against his will and force him to have a conversation.
